In 1926 the Newmarket Horticultural Society was founded with the purpose of promoting horticulture - the joy of plants and gardening for personal and public benefit. Our logo is the Monarda (Scarlet Beebalm). The Monarda attracts bees, and because of this association with the slogan of Newmarket which is "Hive of Industry", the Monarda was chosen as the official logo.
