3. Botanic Garden of Western Pennsylvania - Pittsburg
A new 432-acre Botanic Garden located 20 minutes west of downtown Pittsburgh. Construction will begin in 2006 with a targeted opening date of 2008. The first phase will include a visitor center, an orangerie (greenhouse with citrus and tropical plants will be grown), a children's adventure garden, a formal parterre garden, a four-seasons garden and hanging gardens.
