11. The University of Connecticut Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Conservatory

Our current facility consists of approximately 12,000 square feet of greenhouse & headhouse area. We have three Lord & Burnham 'style' greenhouses, circa late 1950's. Each greenhouse is 100 feet in length and divided into three rooms. All three greenhouses connect to a common headhouse on the north side. There is also a 300 square foot fern room, which is a portion of the entry corridor from the torrey Life Sciences building with a glazed roof. We also maintain outdoor garden, nursery and coldframe areas as well as a protected courtyard between our facility and the adjacent life science building.
